Announcing the Release of
BrailleNote GPS Version 2 with Street Maps
Pulse Data HumanWare and Sendero Group are pleased
to announce the culmination of location information access in the form of
the GPS version 2 with street maps for the U.S. and Canada for the
VoiceNote and BrailleNote products. The entire U.S. map database on
seven CDs is now available. Future releases will include Canada, the
United Kingdom and several European countries.
Mike May, long time advocate for GPS information and
President of Sendero Group, developers and distributors of the GPS says,
"Location information is very empowering. Myself and our testers are
happy to finally share with our blind friends and colleagues the fun
and utility of being able to look around electronically with the
BrailleNote GPS. Using the BrailleNote's powerful route calculation
functions, I actually guided a taxi driver from the airport in Holland to
my hotel in Aachen, Germany, a place I had never been. Whether it is your
neighborhood or another country, this kind of independence is invaluable.
Knowing what street and business signs say is as important as access to
print books and BrailleNote GPS does this in an integrated, portable
manner."
What makes the GPS particularly convenient and
cost-effective is that it is one of many applications running on the
easy-to-use BrailleNote products. A commercial GPS receiver ensures that
users have the most up-to-date and accurate GPS technology along with the
Internet, e-mail, MP3 player, word processor and more. Integration of
technology is key to convenience and productivity and this is accomplished
on the BrailleNote and VoiceNote.
The
BrailleNote GPS introductory prices range from US$350 for an upgrade from
version 1 to US$995 for a new version 2. Call Pulse Data HumanWare
800-722-3393 to place an order or go to www.senderogroup.com for
more information or to order on-line.
