A device driver that is loaded from CONFIG.SYS and allows the Keynote Gold SA, PC, and SE to emulate the Aicom Accent PC synthesizer. It allows these synthesizers to be used by programs such as JAWS for DOS that do not have Keynote GOLD drivers.

Installation Instructions

The files comprising the Accent Emulator have been compressed using PKZIP. Download the file and unzip it onto a floppy disk using PKUNZIP.

To install the driver, insert the floppy disk into the 'A' drive and type a:install. This will copy the driver into the \keynote directory of your hard disk. It will also add the line:

device=c:\keynote\golddev.sys

to your config.sys file. If the install program detects DOS version 6 or later, it will also add a preceeding line:

[common]

To load the driver you should now reboot your computer. If the driver has been successfully loaded, you will hear:

'Goldcard driver successfully installed.'

You may now install and run your speech software, which should be set up for an Aicom Accent PC synthesizer.
