This page contains downloads of the user documentation for currently available versions of BrailleNote software.  The downloads are organized according to file format, then software version, then model.  The available file formats are ASCII text for screen reader users, or pdf for sight dependent PC users.

Please note that while you can read the ASCII text (*.txt) version on a BrailleNote or VoiceNote in either the Book Reader or Word Processor, it will not function as the user guide does i.e. by pressing BACKSPACE with ENTER with H (BT) or READ with HELP (QT) and selecting the index or table of contents.

BrailleNote PK Manual Upgrade

To use this manual on your BNPK, follow these steps:

1. Download the zip file. From this file, extract only the bnb.exe file, and either the us_bnb.exe or the uk_bnb.exe, depending on which math code you use.

2. Put these files into the Flashdisk directory of your BNPK.

3. On your BNPK, go to the Utilities menu and select Application Program. Follow the prompts to install the bnb.exe file, pressing ENTER at the command line prompt. When prompted, reset your BNPK using C3 and C4.

4. Repeat for the other file.

You will now have a Manual folder on your Flashdisk drive with all of the manual files in it. The ones in the manual folder on your KeySoft system disk will not change. However, the index and table of contents mechanism will now reference the updated version. Therefore if you have to do a hard reset, you won't lose your upgraded manual.
