There aren’t any disadvantages to buying a BrailleNote. I used to use a Braille N Speak. It took me about five minutes to figure out that I was going to get the BrailleNote. I love the Braille display. I can read for a long time, and I don't mind using the speech either.

The fact that it is using a Windows based system is great. I have used the BrailleNote for many things such as taking word files and transferring them to the BrailleNote. I read scanned books, and like the ease of saving files and using them on my PC with out any problems. Now, if you don't care about the display, then you might want to check out the Voice Note. It might be a little lighter.

I'm not a tech kind of person, so I can't really provide some of the reasons in a technical nature, but, I think, the service is great, the manual is online, and it is easy to follow. Well, I guess I have finished giving my reasons for owning one.
