Last night I went to my daughter’s high school choral concert and decided to write a review much as a judge would do at a music competition. I arrived early and with my wife reading quietly quickly transcribed the program into the word processor. Then I used this to make notes on each piece of music as it was performed. At the end of each selection I had all the notes in rough draft and was ready for the
next one.
I even managed to add in contact data, which I will pull out from a parent seated next to me as well. I need to brush up on my vocal music critique shorthand but otherwise it was quite nice. I had plugged in a set of earbuds but as I had turned the volume to 1 ultimately decided to leave them tucked in my shirt collar and use the Braille display exclusively. This gives me great practice and wow my reading speed is
increasing. Not to mention I get to hear a great concert as well.
The keyboard could be slightly quieter but actually one seat mate had no problem and I think the other one a row ahead and off the side 3 chairs was as much curious as anything else as these little devices are not too common in the general public yet. Amazing what a keyboard with no screen can do eh?
I even managed to spell check the program notes I had entered prior to the concert. I had never done the spell check previously and the Help key makes on the fly context sensitive help a snap. I was amazed at how easy it was.
Bravo PDI!
