José Feliciano Charms Pulse Data Staff

While in Christchurch for his only New Zealand concert this month, José Feliciano, took some time out of his busy schedule to visit Pulse Data’s company headquarters.  At Pulse Data José met with Pulse Data’s CEO Dr Russell Smith and some of the R & D team responsible for developing Pulse Data’s BrailleNote product.

The BrailleNote family of products are Microsoft Windows CE-based personal information management systems designed specifically for people who are blind. Features of the BrailleNote include a word processor, email, a planner, a web browser that provides users with portable internet access, a book reader and a media player.

Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, and blind since birth, José Feliciano has been acclaimed by critics throughout the world as "the greatest living guitarist". Guitar Player Magazine awarded him Best Pop Guitarist for five years running, and has placed him in their "Gallery of the Greats". Internationally known for songs such as LIGHT MY FIRE, CHE SERA and the Christmas favorite FELIZ NAVIDAD, Jose has also been awarded over forty -five Gold and Platinum records, has won sixteen Grammy nominations, and received six Grammy Awards throughout his international career.

“As well as employing a number of José Felicano’s biggest fans, Pulse Data International is also one of the largest suppliers worldwide of specialist Braille notetaker equipment for people who are blind.  To be given the opportunity to host someone of José’s stature was a wonderful experience”, said Dr Russell Smith.
