Pulse Data Enhance PocketViewers Functionality
Reinforcing its commitment to meeting the needs of people with low vision, Pulse Data has launched the new enhanced PocketViewer. The portable nature of this hand held video magnifier allows customers to carry it with them at all times.
Originally launched in 2003, the PocketViewer was one of the first portable video magnifiers to enter the marketplace. Solid sales and increased market demand have prompted Pulse Data to upgrade the existing PocketViewer’s functionality.
From a simple black and white unit, the current PocketViewer now includes a full colour display making viewing maps and colour photographs possible. The high contrast modes increase image clarity making documents clearer and easier to read. A retractable writing stand is also included for tasks like signing checks and writing brief notes. Each of these features makes the PocketViewer one of the most feature rich portable video magnifiers in the market today.
Pulse Data have also extended the battery life of the new PocketViewer. Customers can now use this product continuously for up to 2 hours before having to recharge the battery. Reduced
recharge times mean that it now takes no more than 3 hours to totally recharge the battery and the built in battery indicator also lets customers know when there is less than 15 minutes of battery life left.
‘ Today’s customers are always doing something or going somewhere, they demand truly portable products. Our PocketViewer is small enough to fit comfortably into the palm of a hand and light enough to be carried in a handbag or jacket pocket,’ says Russell Watson, Pulse Data’s Low Vision Product Manager. ‘Like all Pulse Data products the PocketViewer is designed to help make our customers more independent. With a PocketViewer they can read restaurant menus or browse through books and magazines when travelling. They no longer have to rely on friends and family because they don’t have 20/20 vision.’
