Pulse Data Launches BrailleNote in Berlin
Earlier today Pulse Data International officially launched the
German language version of the BrailleNote at the Residence of the
New Zealand Ambassador in Berlin.
The launch follows the successful launch of the BrailleNote in 2000
and further enhances Pulse Data’s commitment to developing global
innovative technology solutions for people who are blind and
visually impaired.
Like the English product the German BrailleNote’s software has
been designed specifically by Pulse Data, features include a word
processor, email, a daily planner, a book reader, a web browser,
contact lists and a scientific calculator.
Huge interest from distributors and end users for a German language
version of the BrailleNote prompted Pulse Data to invest in the
localisation of the BrailleNote earlier this year.
"The BrailleNote has been an unqualified success for Pulse Data
in every English speaking country. The positive feedback from our
customers has led many blind people whose first language is not
English to Pulse Data asking that we provide them with the same
intuitive interface,” said Jonathan Mosen, Pulse Data
Internationals BrailleNote Product Marketing Manager.
Having focused much of its resources in continental Europe on
promoting low vision products the launch of the German BrailleNote
offers huge opportunity for Pulse Data and its ongoing success in
the European blindness market.
‘We hope to make significant in-roads into the German market with
this new product. Educating distributors and end users on the
virtues of the BrailleNote will enable us to capture a significant
share of the market,’ said Pedro Polson, Managing Director Pulse
Data Europe.
The development of the German BrailleNote follows the launch of the
French language version earlier this year, highlighting Pulse
Data’s ongoing commitment to upgrading and extending the
capabilities of the BrailleNote. Companies attending the launch in
Berlin included Handy Tech GmbH and BAUM Retec AG two of Pulse
Data’s leading distributors in Germany.
